Best Morocco Private Tours & Circuits | MoroccoHive

The Experience

Six days is enough time to fall completely in love with Morocco — if you take the right route. This carefully crafted journey connects three of the country's most iconic worlds: the medieval labyrinth of Fes, the golden silence of the Sahara desert, and the electric energy of Marrakech. You'll ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, sleep under a sky full of stars at a luxury desert camp, and wake up to cross the High Atlas Mountains toward the Red City. Fast-paced but never rushed — this is Morocco's greatest hits, done properly.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Fes

image
Your journey begins as you land in Fes, the cultural soul of Morocco. Our driver will meet you at the airport for a private transfer to your boutique riad. The air here is different—scented with cedar and spices. Take the afternoon to unwind in your riad’s courtyard or climb to a rooftop terrace for your first view of the sprawling medina. This evening is yours to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. We recommend a quiet dinner of authentic Fassi cuisine to ease into the local rhythm.

Day 2: The Living History of Fes

image
Today, a professional guide leads you into the labyrinth. You will discover the medieval heart of Fes medina, visiting the 14th-century Bou Inania Madrasa and the world-famous Chouara Tannery. Watch as craftsmen hand-apply vibrant dyes to leather using techniques unchanged for centuries. Your guide will share the history of the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the world's oldest, and help you navigate the specialized souks for silk and metalwork. It’s a sensory immersion into a world where time has stood still, offering a deep connection to Morocco’s artistic heritage.

Day 3: Journey to the Golden Sands

image
We leave the city early for a dramatic drive south. We’ll pass through Ifrane, often called "Little Switzerland," and stop to see the Barbary macaques in the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. As we descend into the Ziz Valley, the landscape shifts into vast palm groves and rocky plateaus. By late afternoon, the golden peaks of Erg Chebbi appear. You’ll swap your vehicle for a camel, trekking across the Merzouga dunes just as the sun begins to set. Tonight, enjoy Berber music and a starlit dinner at a luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Canyons and Kasbahs

image
After a desert sunrise, we travel west toward the towering walls of Todra Gorge. We’ll take a short walk along the riverbed where the limestone cliffs rise 300 meters above us. Our route then follows the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified village is a masterpiece of earthen architecture and has starred in films like Gladiator. You’ll have time to wander the ancient earthen fortress and learn about the ancient caravan routes that once brought gold and salt through these very gates.

Day 5: The High Atlas to Marrakech

image
We cross the High Atlas Mountains today via the winding Tizi n'Tichka pass. The views are breathtaking, featuring terraced Berber villages and deep valleys. We arrive in Marrakech by early afternoon, meeting a local guide at 14:00 to explore the hidden gems of the Marrakech medina. You’ll visit the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs before emerging into the electric energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa. The transition from the silent desert to the bustling "Red City" is a highlight of this Morocco Highlights Tour, showcasing the country’s incredible diversity.

Day 6: Departure from Marrakech

image
Enjoy one final Moroccan breakfast on your riad’s terrace, perhaps reflecting on the miles traveled and the cultures encountered. If your flight allows, take a final walk through the spice souks to pick up some saffron or argan oil. We provide a private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport, ensuring your journey ends as smoothly as it began. We handle every detail of the logistics, leaving you with nothing to do but dream of your next return to the Hive. Safe travels!

"Having a private car to cross the mountains from Fes to Marrakech is the only way to do it. You can stop in the gorges, take photos of the kasbahs, and just enjoy the ride. Incredible service from start to finish"

"I loved buying spices and rugs in the Marrakech souks, and I loved the ancient leather tanneries in Fes, but sleeping in the luxury Sahara tent was unparalleled. We had a traditional Berber dinner by the campfire under millions of stars, with live drumming music that gave us goosebumps. The organization by MoroccoHive was incredibly prompt, safe, and professional from the moment they picked us up at our riad to the final drop-off."

"The perfect route if you want to connect the two big historic hubs via the deep desert without spending weeks doing it. Fes was a beautiful, chaotic step back in time, but leaving the city behind to head into the quiet sand dunes was magical. Our private driver was brilliant, keeping us laughing the whole way and sharing personal stories about growing up in the south. The sunset photoshoot on the camels was priceless. Highly recommend this specific 6-day loop"
