Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tangier

Welcome to the northern tip of Africa! Your Morocco Grand Tour kicks off in Tangier, a city that has inspired writers and artists for decades. Our driver will meet you at the port or airport to take you to your seaside accommodation. Spend your afternoon wandering the renovated Kasbah and looking out across the Strait of Gibraltar toward Spain. The blend of Spanish, French, and Moroccan influences here creates a unique atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the country. Enjoy a fresh seafood dinner as the Mediterranean breeze sets the tone for your adventure.
Day 2: The Blue Pearl of Chefchaouen

After a relaxed breakfast, we drive into the lush Rif Mountains to find the "Blue Pearl." Chefchaouen is world-famous for its striking indigo-washed buildings and steep, winding alleys. You will have the afternoon for exploring the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen, discovering hidden artisan shops and quiet plazas. The pace here is slower and more serene than the larger cities. We recommend hiking up to the Spanish Mosque at sunset for a breathtaking panoramic view of the blue city nestled against the mountain peaks.
Day 3: Ancient Ruins and Imperial Gates

We head south today, stopping at the remarkably preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will walk among ancient mosaics and triumphal arches that have stood for centuries. Nearby, we visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, to see the grand Bab Mansour gate and the royal stables. This day offers a guided historical tour of northern Morocco landmarks before we arrive in Fes by evening. Settling into a traditional riad in the heart of the old medina is like stepping back in time to the Middle Ages.
Day 4: The Medieval Heart of Fes

Today is dedicated to the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. With a local expert, you’ll navigate the 9,000 alleys of Fes el-Bali. You will witness the ancient tradition of leather dyeing at the Chouara Tannery and visit the world's oldest university, Al-Qarawiyyin. The medina is a living museum where donkey-led carts still deliver goods to weavers and metalworkers. Our guide will ensure you discover the medieval heart of Fes medina without getting lost, helping you find the most authentic workshops and peaceful garden courtyards.
Day 5: The Road to the Sahara

We leave the city early for a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop in the cedar forests of Azrou to see the resident Barbary macaques before descending into the Ziz Valley, where thousands of palm trees line the riverbed. As the landscape flattens and the air turns dry, the first glimpses of the Sahara appear on the horizon. We reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, by late afternoon. Here, the golden sands rise like waves, marking the start of your desert experience.
Day 6: Merzouga and the Desert Camp

Today is all about the Sahara. You can choose to visit local Gnawa musicians in Khamlia or explore the dunes by 4x4. In the late afternoon, you will board your "desert ship" for camel trekking in the Merzouga dunes. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sand changes from gold to deep violet. We’ll arrive at a luxury desert camp where a traditional feast awaits. Spend the night around a crackling campfire listening to Berber drums, then sleep under a canopy of stars so bright they light up the dunes.
Day 7: Canyons and High Palms

Wake up early to witness a Saharan sunrise before we head toward the dramatic Todra Gorge. This massive limestone canyon features walls that tower 300 meters above a narrow riverbed. It’s a spectacular place for a walk and some incredible photography. We’ll continue through the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs," where ancient fortified homes blend seamlessly into the earth. The night is spent in a charming lodge overlooking the lush palm groves of the Dades Valley, offering a refreshing green contrast to the desert sands.
Day 8: The Cinema of Ait Ben Haddou

We travel through the Rose Valley, famous for its May harvest, toward Ouarzazate. This region is the Hollywood of Morocco, and you’ll see why as we reach the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. This UNESCO site has appeared in countless films, from Gladiator to Game of Thrones. You’ll have the chance to wander the ancient earthen fortress and climb to the granary at the top for stunning views. We stay nearby tonight, allowing you to experience the fortress after the day-trip crowds have left, when the light is most magical.
Day 9: Crossing the High Atlas

Our journey continues over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the highest road in North Africa. The drive is a masterclass in geography, winding past Berber villages perched precariously on red cliffs. You will experience authentic Berber hospitality in the Atlas Mountains during our stops for tea and views. As we descend the western slopes, the air warms and the vegetation changes to olive and fruit trees. By late afternoon, the red ramparts of Marrakech come into view, signaling the final leg of our incredible cross-country journey.
Day 10: The Magic of the Red City

Marrakech is a feast for the senses. Today’s guided tour takes you to the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. In the afternoon, dive into the bustling souks to test your bargaining skills or visit the Majorelle Garden for some artistic inspiration. As night falls, we head to Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where snake charmers, storytellers, and food stalls create a vibrant carnival atmosphere. It is the perfect place to celebrate the end of your Morocco Grand Tour with a traditional Moroccan dinner.
Day 11: Departure from Marrakech

After a final breakfast on the rooftop of your riad, enjoy a few hours of last-minute shopping for spices or leather goods. We will coordinate your private transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule. We handle every detail of the logistics, ensuring you leave with nothing but beautiful memories of your journey from the Mediterranean to the Sahara. As you fly home, you’ll carry the colors and hospitality of Morocco with you, already dreaming of your next visit to the Hive.
